Moving on up

The building seems to be coming up very quickly. Despite the long days, it is very exciting to see what our hard work is doing. With most of the window bucks in, we are working on putting up scaffolding around the outside perimeter of the house. In about a week we hope to be completely done with the ICFS [insulated concrete forms]and ready to pour the concrete walls. YAY!

The "Clubhouse"

Our first major project, the UNCG clan constructed housing for tool/warm safehaven from the wind. This building was designed by Robert to be completely taken down and put up once again at another site. [perhaps Urban Studio 3]

Welcome to Urban Studio! If you are coming upon this blog by chance, Urban Studio is a design/build class at UNCG. Located on York Street in Eastside park, a team of 20 UNCG students and 12 Guilford Tech students are being guided through constructing home for teenage mothers and their chilren.
